Joan of Arc: Her Story - Régine Pernoud, Marie-Véronique Clin - Google Books The peasant girl who led an army against the English and placed Charles VII on the French throne has inspired. I think the problem comes from it being a translation. Joan of Arc By Herself and Her Witnesses (ISBN 0-8128-1260-3) is a translation of a 1962 book about Joan of Arc by Régine Pernoud. The one problem I have with this biography is that it is a little tough to read in places.
